DBallerz Event
goal
The MYPI DBallerz basketball program’s goal is to provide an opportunity for youth girls at all skill levels to compete in a safe and nurturing environment while promoting health and well-being. In addition, the program helps build character, self-discipline, and a sense of community.
impact
The impact of MYPI DBallerz basketball program was great, not only for the youth girls who participated but for the community at large. Studies have shown that engaging in organized sports can have a profound positive psychological effect on youth. The girls developed both social and leadership skills and learned the value of teamwork. Through this process, the girls were able to improve their physical fitness and reduce stress. They were also able to build strong peer relationships and gain a higher level of social support. As a result, the youth girls increased in both emotional and overall well-being and attained higher levels of self-esteem, confidence, and resilience which could be seen by both parents and coaches.
